The EdgeWare 10-Inch Oval Diamond Sharpening Rod speeds the sharpening process by collecting and holding the metal filings which ordinarily build up during the sharpening process. Unlike conventional sharpening steels, which only realign the cutting edge, the Diamond Sharpening Rod hones and realigns a knife edge at the same time. It comes with a soft-grip rubber handle and an oversized hand guard for comfort and safety. A plastic tip on the end of the rod protects countertops when sharpening. Fine diamond 750 grip surface.
